Parliament LIVE: Opposition walkout from Rajya Sabha on farmers issue, proceedings adjourned till 12.30 pm

New Delhi, ANI / Online Desk. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the budget on Monday, described it as infrequent. Said that such a budget has never been presented before. After this, it is expected that the atmosphere in both houses of Parliament will be warm. There are speculations that the opposition is preparing to surround the government with agrarian laws and protests by farmers.

The budget session of Parliament began on 29 January with the President’s address, however, the opposition boycotted the address to support farmers who have been protesting against the new agricultural laws for the past two months.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday unveiled an expenditure plan of over Rs 5.5 lakh crore and said that the country’s growth will be delayed if she does not spend now. Nirmala Sitharaman said that the budget 2021 will give a boost to the economy.

-RS President M Venkaiah Naidu said- The President in his address mentioned the movement of farmers. I wanted to start the discussion from today but I was told that the discussion first starts in the Lok Sabha. With this in mind, we have agreed to discuss the President’s address tomorrow.

– Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu said – ‘Discussion on farmers’ protest will not happen tomorrow.’

-Rajad MP Manoj Jha has given notice under Rule 267 of Rules and Procedure and Conduct of Business in Council of States today to protest against the farmers.

-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP GVL Narasimha Rao gave zero notice in Rajya Sabha and demanded ‘action against the culprits responsible for the attacks on Hindu temple in Andhra Pradesh’.

-TMC MP Sukhendu Shekhar Ray and DMK MP Tiruchi Siva gave a stay in the Rajya Sabha on the agitation against the farmers against the three agricultural laws.

-Ashok Siddharth BSP MP gave a stay in Rajya Sabha regarding the current situation in the country due to the agitation against farmers against the three agricultural laws.

CPI (M) MP Elaram Karim sought to discuss the issues of farmers in the Rajya Sabha by giving adjournment motion under Rule 267.

Let us know that after presenting the budget in Parliament, Sitharaman said that the government has not missed the opportunity to clean its accounts. He said, ‘I started it in July 2019, continued in February 2020 and we have made the account more transparent this time. Nothing has been hidden. We are showing clearly where the money is being spent. The money given to FCI is also described. Therefore, the accounts of the revenue and expenditure details of the government have now become more open and transparent.
