Pop the Prosecco: The Christmas season is officially upon us. But if your wardrobe is lacking in sparkle, don’t panic—this year several favorite brands are making sure their festive collections are bigger, bolder, and better than ever.
First, the sequins. The monsoon long-sleeved ruby mini, at left, is seriously festive. If red isn’t your complexion, ASOS’s shimmering halterneck number, second from right, with oversized aqua palettes, has a lot of drama, and a super-low back, for those evenings when you want to make a proper entryway.
Kate Spade’s matching top and skirt, fourth from right, can be worn together in the prettiest pink sequins, or mixed and matched with other pieces to tone down the sparkle factor.

Not a fan of sequins? Shimmering satin is a subtle option. Norwegian brand Vale & Vic’s yellow satin maxi, fourth from left, is an investment, but will have longevity beyond the festive season. Or for something really fun, Kittri’s pink satin trousers, second from left, have show-stopping, fluffy, feathered hems.

Ruffles, when done in black or navy, can be very eye-catching. Bowden takes it up with her sophisticated skirt, third from left, which works perfectly with a fine weave. Mint Velvet also uses ruffles on its sexy strapless jumpsuit, too far. Then there’s the classic velvet dress that will last for years. Beulah London has tons of designs and colors so you can find your ‘forever’ frock, which is the third one from right.
And don’t forget the accessories. The more glamorous this season, the better. Think fluffy evening bags, metallic heels, jewelry headbands, and statement earrings. After all, Christmas is the perfect excuse to wear something fabulous—even if it’s just for a kitchen disco.
