A pilot followed on social media for his anti-vaccine views has gone viral for attacking his airline’s mandate on employees receiving coronavirus shots.
In a TikTok video widely shared by far-right commentators on Monday, Pilot ridiculed those who meet their employer’s requirements for vaccination against Covid.
The pilot identified as Sean Andrew Walker said That her employer was forcing her to choose “between having food on the table for my family and my freedom of choice”.
It was not clear which airline he was employed with, although he has been seen wearing an American Airlines lanyard on another TikTok.
Mr Walker is believed to be among hundreds of airline pilots and employees who are refusing to meet vaccination requirements in the face of Covid.
He said his “freedom” was being taken away from him, and that it was “not an option but an ultimatum”.
“Whether or not you believe getting vaccinated is the right thing to do,” said Mr Walker, “the situation goes far beyond health.”
His video soon went viral among so-called “freedom fighters”, with right-wing commentators Candace Owens and Benny Johnson sharing videos from Mr Walker on Twitter.
RT to stand with the pilots! This is the America I know,” wrote Ms Owens, a conservative commentator.
“This is the bravest thing I’ve seen in years. God bless these pilots. The heroes we need right now,” wrote Turning Point USA chief officer Mr. Johnson.
The US authority has accused President Joe Biden of taking away people’s “liberties” by requiring all federal employees and contractors to be vaccinated against COVID to continue their employment.
Several large firms have also announced their own mandates, with Mr Biden working on a law that would force employers with more than 100 workers to ask for proof of vaccination.
Southwest Airlines and American Airlines both reportedly swore off For ignoring legislation banning the vaccine mandate, which was introduced last week by Republican Governor Greg Abbott of Texas.
Meanwhile, United Airlines said it has fired more than 200 employees who refused to meet its vaccination requirement.
Vaccines are safe and effective, and according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 403 million jabs have been administered in the country alone.
Granthshala American Airlines has been contacted for comment while regrading the video of the pilot.
