The rockers, who haven’t released an album since 2013’s Loud Like Love, shared a photo on Twitter of Billboard featuring the track’s name today (September 13).
In May, the band consisting of Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal said that their eighth album was “being prepared for release” but nothing had happened yet. Granthshala Can confirm that ‘Pretty James’ is the name of a new single.
The duo wrote in a deleted Instagram post in May that their new album was “finished” and also asked fans what kind of merchandise they’d like to see.

“NFTs, posters and art prints, masks, cassette tapes, retro tees, brand new fan clubs, even a fanzine, maybe dolls…. Which placebostuff would you really like to adopt?” part of the deleted message read.
“New music and concerts!!’ There is rally cry and we hear you. Please don’t get discouraged and believe that album 8 is finished and is being prepared for release. We are currently busy booking live dates as well.
“Meanwhile, what else can we do for you? Can you help us out by telling us what you want? We’d love to hear from you. And since we’ll all be seeing each other more and more soon So we’d really like to know.”
Earlier this month Placebo announced a special 2022 UK festival show at Bearded Theory’s Spring Gathering, which will take place next May at Catton Hall in Derbyshire.
They would top the bill with Patti Smith and The Flaming Lips and give fans “a tantalizing taste of some new material”.
