“I went ahead and contacted the maintenance supervisor, and I turned it all on,” he said.

Morning show host George Lindsay said Thursday that “they told us there was a big story about money stolen from Lakewood Church in 2014 that they never recovered”.

The Houston Police Department is still investigating the 2014 theft and it is not clear how much money the plumber found in the wall of the toilet.

“Don’t you want to know what happened, I mean they stole the money, but they didn’t get it out of the wall. Did they have an accident, you know what I mean? It’s like, why would they ever return? Didn’t go? If it’s that money, why didn’t they ever go back?” Mr. Lindsay said.

A representative for Lakewood Church confirmed that the envelopes were found during the repair of the toilet, As per KRPC.

Houston’s Crimestoppers offered a $25,000 reward at the time of the burglary for tips that could lead to an arrest.

“He is the one who found it,” said Mr. Lindsay of the plumber. “If he had never been doing that job behind that toilet, he would never have known the money was there.”

Houston’s Crimestoppers Told KPRC That a tipster would have to contact the organization with information for the arrest of a suspect in order to receive the money, but in this case the statute of limitations has expired and no money will be paid.
