The California Highway Patrol says the suspect, who has yet to be named, was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a horrific crash on Thursday.

Authorities identified the pregnant woman as 23-year-old Asheri Ryan of Los Angeles and her unborn child as two victims of the crash Friday.

Investigators say the horrific accident reportedly occurred when a speeding car in the Windsor Hills area of the city at 35 mph ran a red light at more than 100 mph.

The speeding Mercedes-Benz driver is described as a woman in her 40s, and officials say she was conscious and speaking to police, KTLA reports.

Surveillance video shows Mercedes speeding through the intersection and hitting at least two cars that were engulfed in flames and headed towards a gas station.

Police have yet to confirm whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident.

A 33-year-old adult and six children aged between 13 months and 15 years were also hospitalized after the accident.

CHP officials say the agency will recommend multiple charges against the Mercedes driver when the case is presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
