In it, Anderson alleged that Charles was the royal who speculated about Archie’s skin color before he was born.

“I was able to trace it back to a comment made by Prince Charles [Duchess] Camilla the day Harry and Meghan’s engagement was announced,” Anderson revealed us weekly on Wednesday. “And what he did was casually walk up to him like any grandparent and say, ‘I wonder how their kids will look, hair color, eye color, color.'”

Prince Charles was the royal who asked about Meghan Markle’s complexion, Prince Harry’s firstborn, says book

“They did it with love, but the problem was … misunderstood, contrasted over a period of time by the bureaucrats and the palace – the people who [Princess] Diana used to call the ‘Men in Grey’ – and they actually weaponized it and made it into something that was bad enough to reach Harry’s ear.”

Anderson claimed that 37-year-old Harry had spoken to his 73-year-old father and 39-year-old older brother about the remarks. In response, he reportedly told her that he was “oversensitive” and “exaggerating”.

“That complicated what was already a very complicated situation,” Anderson said.

In response, a Buckingham Palace spokesman told Granthshala News that “we never comment on books like this.” A spokesman for William and his wife, Kate Middleton, also told Granthshala News that they “had no comment.” Spokesmen for Charles and Camilla, as well as Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, did not immediately respond to Granthshala News’ request for comment.

In March 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which they made shocking allegations about their time in the Royal Family. One of the most provocative claims was when Markle, 40, revealed that a member of the royal family had “concerns” about the color of her skin prior to the birth of her child. At the time, Harry made sure to note that it was neither the Queen nor Prince Philip, leaving the door open for speculation.

A source close to the royal family accused Anderson that Charles thought out loud about the child’s color during conversations that took place shortly after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s engagement in 2017.

“I wonder how the kids will look?” Charles reportedly told his wife Camilla, as quoted page six,

Camilla was reportedly “somewhat stunned” and said the baby would be “beautiful”.

Christopher Anderson alleged that it was Prince Charles who speculated about the color of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's firstborn son Archie.

Reportedly lowering his voice, Charles asked: “I mean, what color do you think their kids might be?”

A spokesperson told The New York Post that “this is fiction and does not deserve further comment.”

The book claims that Charles was merely expressing an innate curiosity about what the baby might look like, implying that it was a public relations issue of the royal family dealing with a darker-skinned member. The outlet reported that Charles’ views were quickly turned around by courtiers and given a more toxic and racist spin by the time Markle and Harry heard about him.

Nick Bullen, an award-winning documentary as well as co-founder and editor-in-chief True Royalty TV, previously told Granthshala News that he believes Charles is “heartbroken” by the allegations. The filmmaker has worked closely with the Prince of Wales for nearly a decade.

“I think the Prince of Wales must be shocked and heartbroken,” Bullen said last year. “Imagine if a member of your family, especially your son or daughter, goes on television and says, ‘I’ve broken up with my father?’ Even if it’s true, the world now knows. So I think the Prince of Wales must have been heartbroken.”

“There is no doubt in my mind that the man cares for his son,” Bullen said. “We’ve really only heard one side of the story. And so far, Meghan and Harry have won the PR war.”

Shortly after the interview aired, Buckingham Palace issued a 60-word statement on behalf of the 95-year-old Queen.

“The whole family is saddened to learn how challenging the past few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the statement read.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live in California with their two children.

“The issues raised are particularly those of race,” the statement said. “While some memories may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed privately by the family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be very dear members of the family.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex now reside in the coastal city of Montecito, California. On June 4, the couple welcomed their second child, a daughter named Lilibet “Lily” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. The name pays tribute to both the Queen, whose family surname is Lilibet, and her late mother, Diana.
