White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki dismissed concerns about President Biden’s recent cough during speeches, saying she is not worried when asked during Thursday’s White House press briefing.

“Many of us were seeing the President in the East Room, we have seen him on several occasions where he used to cough repeatedly. What’s the situation with that cough and is it a cause for concern?” NBC News’ Kelly O’Donnell asked Psaki.

“I don’t think it’s a concern,” Saki said. “There are many reasons why we need to clear our throats or cool down a bit.”

Psaki said Biden has a doctor who travels with him and is regularly examined.

At a later press conference, Psaki was asked when Biden’s next physical test would take place and did not know a specific date.

During the presidential campaign, his doctor, Kevin O’Connor, said wall street journal That Biden suffers from high cholesterol, acid reflux disease and seasonal allergies and that acid reflux causes his throat to clear frequently.

“It can also contribute to an occasional cough and sinus congestion,” O’Connor wrote in a statement. “He has had an endoscopy to rule out any more significant disease.”
