Reading & Leeds has confirmed that the first line-up announcement for 2022 will come next week.

The double event will take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend (26–28), with R&L boss Melvin Bain previously stating Granthshala That “three of next year’s six headliners are in place”.

As speculation mounts, the organizers revealed today (December 3) that the first wave of names will be unveiled on Wednesday (December 8). This comes before a general ticket sale on the following Friday (December 10).

The group is set to release a new album – a follow-up to 2018’s ‘Tranquility Bass Hotel & Casino’ – in the new year, with drummer Matt Helders recently revealing that it was “too much over”.

Ben also spoke about whether America acts like Queen of the Stone Age and Machine Gun Kelly might return in 2022. (They were both booked for this year but were out due to COVID travel restrictions).

“As you’ve seen in this year from 2020, we don’t rebook acts just for the sake of it,” he added Granthshala, “What we want to do is book a relevant festival every year, not just rebook canceled acts.”

Reading and Leeds 2021 was titled by Liam Gallagher, Post Malone, Stormzy, Disclosure, Biffy Clyro and Catfish + The Bottlemen. Elsewhere there were performances by artists such as Wolf Ellis, Gerry Cinnamon, Sigrid, and Bebooby.
