Democrat Dingell, who made headlines for a shout-out match with Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on the steps of the Capitol in September, told Detroit Free Press that a plate glass window and objects on the walls in the Dearborn office were smashed.

The newspaper said the office was previously used by her husband, John Dingell, who was in Congress before her.

“I am deeply concerned about the breakdown and sabotage of my Dearborn office today,” she said on Twitter. “Our doors and windows were smashed and memorabilia – especially John’s belongings – were broken.”

No one was hurt, but she said, “We must also recognize impact attacks like this and there have been constant threats to my staff and all Congress employees.

“The motive of today’s incident is not clear, but what I can tell you is that the humiliation, violence and division in this country needs to end,” she said. “We need to practice civility and kindness, not division and anger.

He said his office had been receiving threats “for months” and were being taken seriously.

Rep Debbie Dingell said her late husband, Rep. John Dingell’s belongings, were damaged.

“This vandalism really hits home,” she said. “Even if you have a different view than mine or your neighbor’s, we need to learn to listen to each other and work together to solve the issues facing our country.”

He said the US Capitol Police and Dearborn Police were working with its staff to find out who was responsible.

Dingell and some other Democrats clashed with Green after the House of Representatives passed a bill codifying Roe v. Wade in September. Green harassed Democratic lawmakers during a press conference on the bill, with Dingell angrily shouting, “You try to be a Christian and try to treat your colleagues decently!”
