An explosion in Ayr has caused serious damage to a house, with the explosion being heard for miles away.

Images shared on social media showed that at least one house was badly damaged, with debris lying in the street.
Social media users said they heard the explosion from miles away.
It is understood that many residents have been evacuated from homes near the blast site, some of whom have been sheltered at the nearby Queen Margaret Academy.
Kincaidston Community Center said it is open to those who need help.
a Scottish Fire and Rescue Service The spokesman said: “We received information about a house fire in Gorse Park, Eyre at 7.11 pm on Monday, 18 October.
“Operation Control rushed nine equipment and specialist resources to the scene and firefighters are working to put out the blaze.
“The crew are currently in attendance and assisting emergency service partners.”

The Ayrshire Police Twitter account said: “We are currently present following a report of an explosion at a property in Gorse Park in Ayr just after 7.10pm on Monday 18 October.
“Emergency services are currently at the scene and we would advise people to avoid the area for the time being.”
