It has been said that if Messi stays at the club, he will receive a net salary of €110 million (£94m) over the next three seasons.

Messi will earn €30m (£25.6m) this season and €40m (£34.1m) in the next two campaigns, before his contract expires in 2024, when he turns 37.

His salary is the same as he would have received in Barcelona if he were able to stay at the club where he made a name for himself.

Messi was set to take a 50% cut in his salary, which would have netted him €30m per season at the Catalan giants.

However those salaries would still have been too high under LaLiga’s financial fair play rules, which led to his departure from the club at the end of his final contract.

Messi did not receive a transfer bonus when he moved to PSG, although it is said that he will receive a loyalty bonus which will be worth €15m (£12.8m) per year.

Since completing his move to the Ligue 1 side, he has also been linked to cryptocurrency website Crypto.com, which will earn him an additional amount of up to €30 million over the duration of his contract.

The partnership is the club’s most lucrative sponsorship apart from those appearing on their match and training shirts.

A part of Messi’s salary will be paid Cryptocurrency fan token, which is a type of cryptocurrency that allows holders to vote on mostly minor decisions related to their club.

His salary is similar to that of teammate Neymar, although Messi’s salary will increase next season, but the Brazilian forward will see his head in the opposite direction in the coming seasons before his contract expires in 2025.

Mbappe is currently on a €25m (£21.4m) salary but is believed to have turned down the approach on a new deal, with his contract at the club expiring next summer.

The French World Cup winner will be free to speak to clubs abroad on January 1, with the 22-year-old linked to a move to Real Madrid.

Messi’s signing completed a busy summer transfer window for PSG, who were able to land former Real Madrid captains Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum and Gianluigi Donnarumma as well as Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes on free transfers.

It didn’t take long for the Messi frenzy to catch on to the club’s supporters, with the forward’s replica popping out of the top just minutes after the club’s shop announced his confirmation.

Messi joined Barcelona at the age of 15 and made his senior debut in 2004 at the age of just 16, making a total of 778 appearances for the club in his 21-year career.

During that time Messi became Barcelona’s record scorer with 672 goals, including 120 Champions League goals and a record 474 LaLiga goals.

He left the club crying before joining PSG, where he made his debut as a substitute against Reims before the international break.

Messi made his debut for the club during the Champions League clash against Club Brugge, but he is still awaiting his first goal for the French side.
