McFly’s frontman said he found it “really difficult” to smile while dancing on Strictly, to which Rylan quipped: “It’s in the minute anyway!” with reference to itself.

Tom and Amy laughed again and the presenter admitted: “It’s still swollen”.

Rylan first got the veneer when he hosted Big Brother’s Bit on the Side Back in 2013.

He has since become famous for his white smile, but he has always taken the jokes in stride.

And this month he decided it was time for a change, and updated followers with a suitably dramatic statement on Twitter earlier in the week with his next move.

He wrote at the time: “8 years later. Hurts, a lot, but sometimes you just have to let go. I’ve decided to say goodbye… to my teeth new smile imminent “
