Sadie Frost and Donna Air appeared on stage at The Criterion Theater in London on Monday night in Punched – a play focused on domestic abuse.

Sadie wore a hospital gown and shoes while performing in the production – which tells the story of a mother and daughter.

Punched is a dramatization of women’s experiences of domestic and sexual violence, designed to ‘voice’ survivors and highlight the scale of abuse.

It is directed by Judd Kelly, and the cast includes Prianga Burford, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Issie Knopfler, and spoken poet Miss Yankee.

The play is composed of short monologues and scenes based on the stories of the survivors and is raising funds for three charities, The Circle, Refuge and Southall Black Sisters.

Each story highlights a different aspect of gender-based violence, including rape, coercive control, sexual assault and child abuse.

talking to Guardian Before the performance, Donna described the play as follows: ‘It’s not a fancy theater show, it’s very laid back and no frills.

‘It won’t be a night of huge demonstrations – it’s a night to be honest.’
