Prepare to die with your friends this time in 2D
salt and sacrifice, from the developers of Salt and sanctuaryWas announced at Summer Game Fest with a release date of 2022.
The game will feature local and online co-op and will be a 2D side scroller similar to the previous game. It features intense combat, and appears to have a choice between sword, magic, and archery.
There will also be a character creator system that allows you to choose traits such as offense, lineage, and even a mustache. The focus seems to be on ‘hunting wizards,’ as the character says in the trailer, “I only live to hunt wizards now.”
The above trailer also features footage of a variety of intense boss fights, wall jumps, and frantic gameplay.
Ska Studios’ James Silva is on the PlayStation Blog to talk more about the game’s creative process. In the post, Silva explains more about what players can expect:
“Salt and Sacrifice explores a new era and territory, as well as a new role: a marked Inquisitor expands into the world of Salt and Sanctuary by discovering it. A Marked Inquisitor is a criminal who is condemned, yet under the influence of Mages. The hand of justice is spared in return for a lifetime’s service in an endless war against: twisted, irreplaceable creatures of primal malice.”
He also mentioned how Salt and Sacrifice would add cooperative gameplay to the series for the first time: “I was sending screenshots of a new game launched in 2019 to my friend Shane Lynch, a fellow coder who played unintentionally Was. Suffered in many of my D&D campaigns over the years. “You should add online multiplayer,” he said. “I’ll do it,” he joked (or so I thought). He has a really strong background in network programming. Not me.”
Salt and Sacrifice will release in 2022.
