Santana High School tweeted that all its students were safe and that the plane had crashed two to three blocks away.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Twitter account warned residents to avoid the surrounding area and first responders were at the scene to investigate.

if you live in @CityofSanteePlease avoid the area near the 9900 block of Ann Magnolia Avenue. @SanteeFire @SDSOSantee and other first responders are at the plane crash site. This is a developing situation. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
