Dangerous winter storms in the United States caused record subzero temperatures, power outages for millions of homeowners, and more than two dozen deaths. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), COVID-19 also has a large weather impact on the shipment and delivery of vaccines.

A CDC spokesperson told Fox television stations, “With winter weather currently impacting a large part of the country, the US government is delaying COVID-19 vaccine shipments and deliveries over the next few days.”

Reid says the CDC is working closely with its partners to get the Americans to take the vaccine, but the hurricane situation facing the nation is likely to be increasingly affected.

Shipping partners are working to deliver the vaccine casually to local conditions where possible, but adverse weather is expected to continue to impact the FedEx facility in Memphis, Tenn. As well as the UPS facility in Louisville, Kane. Reid has served as a vaccine shipping hub for several states.

Winter weather advisories and winter storm warnings are currently in effect in a large part of the country, including Memphis and Louisville, from where coronavirus vaccines are shipped.

The National Weather Service on Wednesday in Memphis predicted a high of 26 degrees with a chance of 90 degrees of snow – a city that was already affected by snow and icy conditions.

Meanwhile, Louisville is rolling in for another round of wintry weather with another 3 inches of snow, according to its local weather service.

“CDC and federal partners are working closely with the jurisdiction and manufacturing and shipping partners to assess weather conditions and help with potential delivery delays and cancellations,” Reid said.

This system can bring a couple more snow and many more inches to the interior northeast in places like Texas.
