Sheriff Tiraspol witnessed disturbing scenes when winger Adama Traore fell down holding his chest in a Champions League match against Real Madrid on Wednesday night.

The Mali attacker committed a 50/50 challenge with Real Madrid’s Nacho Fernandez at the touchline and Traore appeared to be under pressure when the ball was out of play.

He held his breath, but after lying on the ground in distress for a few seconds, doctors on the Moldovan side rushed to help.

Doctors immediately tried to use smelling salts to activate his senses, but he was not reacting strongly to them either.

He was seen shaking his head in response to medics’ questions and was raised to a sitting position before eventually helping out on the field and into the dressing room.

The Moldovan side has yet to elaborate on the reasons why Traore was suffering from chest pain.

Concerns for Trior come soon after Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero was diagnosed with a cardiac arrhythmia after suffering chest pains in the 1-1 draw against Alves.

The Catalan giants have since pulled the 33-year-old Argentine out of action for three months as a period of rest once extensive medical tests are conducted.

Aguero insisted he was feeling positive, tweeting: ‘I am fine and in good spirits to face the process of recovery.

‘I want to thank everyone for so many messages of support and affection that keep my heart strong today.’

His teammates immediately called for medical help and the 30-year-old Received 10 minutes of immediate treatment on the pitch at Madejski Stadium before being taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

After remaining conscious in hospital for nearly 12 hours, Fleck was released on Wednesday morning and went back to Sheffield and will be closely monitored by the club after frankly speaking to the club, medics and his family.

Denmark midfielder Kristian Eriksson tragically collapsed at Euro 2020 five months ago and last month Iceland midfielder Emil Palsson needed resuscitation. Both suffered cardiac arrest on the pitch.
