Slam Dunk Festival has announced its first wave of acts for its 2022 event – see the post below.
The double event – held at Temple Newsom, Leeds and Hatfield Park, Hertfordshire – earlier this month had its 2020 edition canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Taking to social media this evening (September 21), organizers confirmed that both Alexisonfire and Rancid will headline Slam Dunk 2022 on their first appearance at the festival.
They would join The Used, The Wonder Years, Motion City Soundtrack, Hot Milk and Meet me @ The Altar Next year on 3 June (Leeds) and 4 June (Hatfield). According to the initial line-up poster, “many more” cast members are to be confirmed.
Plus many more will be announced in the coming months! Super Early Bird tickets are on sale this Friday at 9am from only £69 https://t.co/BtZWKcsuwa

The event was earlier held in May, however this year’s edition was moved to 4/5 September in line with the reopening of the live event following the COVID restrictions in England.
At Slam Dunk Festival 2021, McFly made a surprise appearance in both the North and South.
After their first show in Leeds, the pop-rock group praised the audience’s “serious energy”. “How many crowd surfers can we have tomorrow?” He added. McFly said the next day that the crowd at Hatfield “did not disappoint”.
