His side also drew against Everton and lost against Aston Villa a week before that.

They were also struggling at home to Villarreal in the Champions League before winning in the last minute.

SunSport understands that the Old Trafford hierarchy is pleased with the direction in which it is leading the club.

United sees him as a long-term project, and is completely behind everything he is trying to build while fighting for the Premier League title.

Earlier this month, Sir Alex Ferguson was caught criticizing his team’s selection for not starting Cristiano Ronaldo against Everton.

Solskjaer has been cashed out in the transfer market, including signing Ronaldo.

The Red Devils have set aside £73m from Borussia Dortmund on Jadon Sancho and £41m from Real Madrid on Rafael Varane.

And the next set of games will have a huge impact on United’s season, with a spooky run of matches.

They will face Atalanta in the Champions League this coming mid-week.

Then they have Liverpool, Tottenham, Atalanta, Manchester City all before Chelsea and Arsenal at the end of November.

Horror Run of Fixtures

But former Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged United to sack Solskjaer and replace him with Antonio Conte.

He told talkSPORT: “Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not going to win the league for Manchester United.

“Man United now need to take Ole out of this, give him a job on the board, bring in Conte and he will get the best out of these players.

“I think some of his decision has been miles away from it, I think United will have to shoot and get rid of him, bring in Conte who is out there.”

During this, The bookies are less likely to ax him and he is not the fourth favorite to go ahead in the Premier League.
