“South Park: Post COVID” offers a glimpse into the future of Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny for the first time in the show’s history.
The 14-hour-long special debuts Thursday (November 25) on Paramount+, leaping 40 years into the future when COVID-19 finally ends.
Throughout the series, Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflowski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick have been nine years old (though Stan turns 10 in the episode “You’re Getting Old”). With Time Jump, this post COVID special connects with their lives as they are almost 49-year-olds.
In the episode, the catalyst for the children to come together again is the funeral of Kenny, who before his death was working as a scientist on experiments related to COVID-19. His death is shrouded in mystery that serves as the main thrust of the plot.
Stan is now an “online whiskey consultant” who has a girlfriend named Alexa. He’s gone too far out of town South Park, and lost touch with his family years ago.
Kyle, however, never left South Park And one is working on “advice for online start-ups” – with it unclear what happened to the Broflovsky family. He is particularly disturbed by the return of Cartman, who has converted to Judaism and is now a rabbi with his wife, Yantel, and three children. As he is constantly mocked by Cartman for his Jewish faith, Kyle isn’t buying his change.
Other characters have also been featured, including Jimmy Wallmer who now works as a chat show host on Late Night with Jimmy. Randy Marsh is living in the Shady Acres retirement community with 600,000 others, including Stan’s father, Mr. Garrison and Mr. McKay.

Wendy Testaberger, Stan’s ex-girlfriend, has a husband named Darwin, Clyde Donovan is an anti-vaxxer, while Tweak and Craig remain a couple after all these years. Scott Malkinson has also become a priest.
Second South Park The special is scheduled to release in December 2021, continuing with the events in ‘South Park: Post COVID’. two South Park Paramount+ plans to release films every year.
These follow the special two South Park Episodes released during the pandemic, titled ‘The Pandemic Special’ and ‘South Parque Vaccination Special’. The former was nominated for Outstanding Animated Program at the 2021 Primetime Emmy Awards.
“South Park: Post COVID” is now available to stream on Paramount+ in the US. A UK release date has yet to be announced.
