A stand collapsed at the Stadion de Gofert as players from Vitesse Arnhem celebrated with their fans – but miraculously no one was hurt.
The incident happened after Sunday’s Eredivisie game, when stars from the Dutch club approached supporters at the far end of the field.
A video circulating on Twitter showed fans bouncing up and down after a 1-0 loss to NEC, before the stands give way worryingly.
The players were immediately shocked, with some placing their hands on their mouths and heads.
However, they continued their celebration only a few seconds later when it appeared that no one was injured.
Nijmegen’s Major, Hubert Bruels, confirmed that the supporters later faced a lucky escape.
Brules also called for a thorough investigation into the incident.
he told the Dutch newspaper Wire: “I am very shocked by what happened. Fortunately, as far as [we know], no one was injured.
