State Soldier Dan Pfeiffer – The love interest of one of the disgraced ex-gov. Andrew Cuomo’s daughters who were members of his security detail before his disapproved father deported him to the Canadian border – are being promoted to sergeant and sent to New York City, The Post has learned .

Pfeiffer’s promotion to the ranks of the New York State Police will take effect on Thanksgiving Day as the unemployed former chief executive faces the consequences of countless documented misdemeanors.

“Effective 11/25, Dan Pfeiffer will be promoted to the rank of sergeant and transferred to Troop NYC. It was the result of a competitive exam,” a state police source familiar with the process told The Post on Wednesday.

“The exam was on April 6, 2019,” explained the source. “They promote from the list generated from that test.”

In October 2020, The Post specifically requested Cuomo that Pfeiffer, 36, be moved from his security details after he learned of his romance with his then 25-year-old daughter, Kara Kennedy Cuomo.

Pfeiffer — a hunky former collegiate tennis player at Skidmore College who graduated from Police Academy in 2015 — and Kennedy-Cuomo started getting hot and heavy in early 2020. The pair met when Pfeiffer served as one of Cuomo’s bodyguards.

On May 24, Pfeiffer called for a “voluntary relocation” to Troop B in northeastern New York, a state police spokesman told The Post at the time.

A source familiar with the situation earlier told The Post, “He was transferred to keep him away from the daughter because the governor didn’t like what he was doing.”

Pfeiffer’s relationship with Kennedy-Cumo, now 26, required removal from his father’s protective detail due to “protocol of dignitary security,” a law enforcement source familiar with the situation told The Post last year.

But the move didn’t end the couple’s relationship, because according to one source, Pfeiffer often returned to the executive mansion to pick up Kennedy-Cuomo, angering the former governor.

Pfeiffer had not committed misconduct, so in an informal disciplinary practice known as “highway medicine”, he was reassigned to a state police station in Plattsburgh – about 25 miles south of the Canadian border and in Albany. About 160 miles north of the Capitol, the source said.

A source said the governor was “limited in how much he could mess with her, so highway therapy is one of his few options.”

In response, Pfeiffer’s 95-year-old grandmother said Cuomo’s call was “ridiculous.”

“Dane has always been a wonderful, lovely, kind and thoughtful person,” Marianne Pfeiffer told The Post in November 2020. “I think he’s funny, because he’s always been a good friend of the family – and a good friend of Dane.”

It is unclear whether the soldier is still dating Kennedy-Cuomo.

Cuomo spokesman Rich Azopardi declined to comment. Pfeiffer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Pfeiffer’s promotion comes after a state legislature probe Cuomo – who resigned in August following the release of state Attorney General Letitia James’ monumental sexual assault investigation – sexually assaulted 12 women, intentionally in a COVID-19 nursing home. Reduced the number of deaths in the state, and put pressure on the state. To help employees write their $5.1 million pandemic memoir.

In response to reports released Tuesday, two former New York prosecutors infamous Tuesday for using government employees to help write Cuomo’s “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons for the COVID-19 Pandemic” Cuomo exploded.

“Using employees for personal gain is unfair,” Elizabeth Holtzman, a former Brooklyn District Attorney, told The Post. “The former governor should design a residence for the use of these employees to repay the taxpayers of the State of New York.”

After being sent packing from an executive mansion in Albany, the unemployed Cuomo is considering a campaign to serve as the state’s attorney general, a position he held before being elected governor.
