Student busted with loaded gun, $30K inside Brooklyn high school: sources

A 17-year-old student from the city was busted inside a Brooklyn high school on Wednesday with a loaded 9mm pistol and more than $30,000 in cash, according to law enforcement sources.

Sources said a school secretary noticed a shotgun inside a student’s bag at the Academy for Integrated Learning in downtown Brooklyn around noon.

The employee spotted the weapon while the retarded student marked his presence inside the school office.


Sources said NYPD units were called to the scene and found a pile of bills worth more than $30,000 with loaded guns.

The juvenile was arrested and taken to a local compound for processing.

“Dangerous items of any kind have no place in our schools, and our excellent school staff and school security agents quickly and safely recovered the item as soon as a student entered the school building, ensuring Doing that all the students and staff are safe,” the department said. Education spokesman Nathaniel Steyer K. “All protocols were followed, and we are working closely with the NYPD regarding follow-up.”

Several guns have been seized in and around the city’s schools this year – including three pistols that were recovered over the course of a day in October.
