PSAKI stresses whether Biden ‘ever’ went to the southern border
US Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas: What is happening in Del Rio really shows the cause and effect of the Biden border disaster. To really understand this, you have to go back to September 8th.
On 8 September, under that bridge, on any given day, there were 700 to 1,000 illegal immigrants, most of them from Haiti. And that was a constant flow for some time, as between 700 and 1,000 a day were illegally crossing at that point.
On 8 September there were about 900 Haitians who were about to fly back to Haiti, and the Biden administration canceled those flights. He said, ‘We are not going to deport you. you can stay here. You can live in America.’
And what happened was simple. Those 900 Haitians, they took out their phones. And they got their phones and they called their families, they called their friends. He texted his family and friends.
You had 700 people on September 8th. Eight days later, on September 16, I landed in Del Rio. The day I was there, 700 people had become 10,503. It took eight days for this to happen.
Within a few days that was 10,000 to 15,000 and it was direct cause and effect. It turned out that the Biden administration was not going to enforce the law.
And if you’re from Haiti, come to Del Rio because that means you’ll get to live, and that’s what caused this disaster.
