Lee Turner, 33, was stabbed once in the chest during an alleged assault in the Pinehurst area of swindon on 10 October.
a 17 year old, from London, has been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon and will appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on Monday.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker, who is leading the investigation, said: “I want to pay tribute to Lee’s family for their dignity and support during this ongoing investigation as they come to terms with the loss of a loved one. At this difficult time I am with you our sympathies.
“I also want to thank those in the Gorse Hill and Pinehurst areas of Swindon for their patience and support by allowing our officers to do their jobs.”
Wiltshire Police said an 18-year-old man arrested earlier in connection with the incident has been released on conditional bail and a 24-year-old man has been released under investigation.
Mr Turner of Park North was stabbed to death on the ground locally known as The Weeny.
In a statement, his family said: “Lee will be greatly missed. We would like to thank everyone for their kind messages and support, which have brought us comfort in this time of sorrow.”
