The first glimpse of The Great British Bake Off season 12 was revealed on Wednesday as Channel 4 released pictures from the first installment of the 2021 series, which airs on September 21.

New images show twelve contestants baking up a storm under the famous white tent – standing in the grounds of Down Hall – as they face this year’s first challenges.

Fighting all over to be the winner of GBBO 2021, contestants try to prove they’re the best bakers the country has to offer under the watchful eyes of judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, while hosts Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding Laughed.

The series kicks off with Cake Week this month, and newly released images show the star bakers doing their best to impress Paul, 55, and Pru, 81.

Clearly pleased to be back in action, Matt, 47, and Noel, 48, cheer on the tent while getting to know this year’s contestants.

Bakers are tasked with creating twelve perfect mini rolls, before uncovering the ingredients hidden under a gingham cloth for the episode’s technical challenge.

They are invited to express their technical creativity by making cakes that defy the laws of physics.

GBBO’s 2021 line-up was unveiled on Tuesday, September 21 at 8PM on Channel 4, ahead of the start of Season 12 of the show.

After teasers started dropping last week on TV and social media, fans have been biting to find out who will be competing in the tents this year.

And more than half the new line-up is inspired by the exotic heritage of its competitors – bringing a diverse mix of cultures to the tent, which promises some exciting bakes to come.
