The Great Escape has announced the first 50 acts for its 2022 festival.

The Brighton-based new music showcase was forced to cancel both its 2020 and 2021 editions due to the coronavirus pandemic, although a virtual event was held earlier this year.

The Great Escape will return next year from May 11-14, and this morning (September 15) the festival has announced the first set of cast members who will grace their stages next year.

The first 50 acts to be announced for The Great Escape 2022 feature the likes of Ani, Priya Ragu, Finn Esque, Dima and Sifo, and you can check out the full list below.

The Great Escape 2022 has tickets on sale from here.

Ahead of next year’s festivities, The Great Escape will host its ‘First Fifty’ showcase in November in locations in Brighton and east London, as well as online.

The Great Escape 2022

Taking place between November 17-19, all 50 acts announced today will be performed live to “give the first glimpse of talent ready to play TGE 2022”.

There will be eight events in London on 17 November before the showcase goes online on 18 November. The next day Sam Ryder, Isabel Brown and the Heights will play in the chalk in Brighton to round off the ‘First Fifty’ event.

Yesterday (14 September) Green Man Festival confirmed Michael Kiwanuka as their first headliner for 2022.
