Adele has enthralled her fans around the world today as she finally released her first new track in five years – Easy on Me – which reflects the pain she felt amid her divorce from husband Simon Konecki.

But who is the mysterious old-Etonian and charity CEO who kicked the singer off her feet and supported her through superstardom — before she even started washing her dirty laundry in public?

Simon, 47, who was born in New York but moved to London as a child, attended Eton before working in the city as a teenager, working at Lehman Brothers and EBS.

After being nicknamed ‘Swampy’ by workers, he left banking in 2005 and founded the ‘Ethical’ Life Water Company, which sold bottled English mineral water.

After being introduced by mutual friend Ed Sheeran, he began dating Adele in 2012, with rumors that his relationship began before the end of his first marriage to stylist Clary Fisher. The two welcomed a baby boy, Angelo, in October of the same year.

Adele and Simon married in 2018, but the relationship quickly turned sour and they split in 2019—at the time, friends insisted the split wouldn’t be bad.

But earlier this year, it emerged that Adele was forced to use arbitrators to split her £140 million fortune during her divorce from husband Simon.

While not quite in the same league, former Etonian Simon has his money and is reportedly worth around £2m ($2.7m) in his own right. It is reported that they did not even sign a pre-marriage agreement prior to the wedding.

And now, with Adele revealing all about their relationship on her latest album, 30, the infamously private Simon hasn’t released any comment yet.

What about Simon? The grandson of a Polish radio operator, he is the son of Andrew and Rosemary Konecki – who live in Vewe, Switzerland, where the income tax is a maximum of 11.5 percent. He also owns a £1 million holiday home in Boca Raton, Florida.

He was born in New York, where he lived for the first 10 years of his life before his family moved to London.

There, he attended the prestigious boys’ school Eaton (fees, £30,000 a year) with contemporaries such as Camilla’s son Tom Parker-Bowles and Bear Grylls.

He left when he was about 14 years old. Simon was placed in the boarding house of history teacher David Evans, who was in Cambridge with some of Monty Python’s team.

The house had a reputation for being badly behaved and it seems that Simon fits right in.

At the age of 17 he started his first job as a trainee forex broker. that later Remembered that How he wore a pin-striped suit with red braces in the interview (inspired by the ‘Wall Street movie’).

Simon worked in banking for years before leaving in 2005 and founded the 'Ethical' Life Water Company, selling bottled English mineral water (pictured).

He continued: ‘They took me to the pub and kept mickeys out of me for hours. But I got the job.

When he worked in the city, he was nicknamed Swampy for his ‘long hair and leftist views’. (Swamp was an environmental activist famous for some time during the nineties.)

Seven years later, he began running a team of senior brokers at Lehman Brothers.
