The Weeknd said Tuesday that his voice is recovering, and is working on rescheduling the event, just days after the show canceled his performance at a concert near Los Angeles.

The concert at So-Fi Stadium on Saturday was two songs from when the singer began to lose his voice and the show was forced to be shortened.

“Doctor says my voice is safe and with rest I will be stronger and able to bring on the show my Toronto fans have been waiting for,” he wrote in a tweet on Tuesday. “Working on a L.A. date soon. Thank you so much for all the love and understanding coming my way. I love you all so much.”

The Weeknd broke the news from stage on Saturday to fans at the venue.

He told the crowd at the sold-out show, “I can’t give you the concert I want to give you right now.”

“I’m going to make sure everyone is good – you get your money back – I’ll do a real show for you guys soon,” he said. “But I wanted to come out and apologize personally. You know how much this kills me, I’m sorry. I love you. Thank you very much.”

After the concert was cancelled, the singer posted a statement on Twitter, saying that her voice “goed out during the first song and I was devastated. Felt it gone and broke my heart. Here’s my message to my fans.” Deepest apologies. I promise I will pass it on to you with a new date.”
