Wire A new poll has named the greatest TV series of the 21st century.

The critically acclaimed drama ranked first in a new BBC list ranking the best shows of the past 21 years, based on an overall poll of TV critics.

The BBC wrote, “We hope you are as inspired and excited to read the results as we are – collectively, they offer not only a celebration of TV, but a view of the modern age like few others.” present.”


Responding to the victory, Wire Producer David Simon said: “I’m glad the show has a shelf life. We weren’t interested in whether the characters were good or bad. The idea in the writers’ minds was, ‘If a society is going to have a law enforcement branch.’ What is the work of that organization? What is the police doing?’

Last month (September 13) Simon paid tribute to the show’s late actor Michael K Williams in an open essay.
