Thousands of Coors Light beer cans block Florida highway after lorry crash

The Florida highway was blocked after several lorries crashed and thousands of beer cans were scattered on the road.

The Florida Highway Patrol said all lanes on the south side of I-75 were closed on Wednesday after five vehicles crashed. Minor injuries were reported.

Footage from the scene showed thousands of Coors Light beer cans and boxes scattered on the highway or under crashed lorries.


A major clean-up drive took place a few hours before the highway reopened.

The driver of one of the vehicles, known as the semitrailer, attempted to change lanes and crashed behind the other semitrailer. Tampa Bay Times,

Both drivers reportedly stopped, one on the outside shoulder and one in the outside lane.

Then two other lorry drivers stopped to check on the crashed trucks. The driver of the other vehicle also stopped.

A fifth semitrailer vehicle – one carrying Coors Bears – did not slow down in time for the stalled lorries and collided with two other vehicles.

The Tampa Bay Times said that every item of the lorry fell on the road as a result of the accident.
