A Tiger King reptile dealer has died after allegedly shooting himself in front of his wife.
Former reptile dealer Jeff Johnson died in September, according to tmz,
Police told the outlet that the cattle trader allegedly committed the gruesome act in the immediate presence of his wife.
He was reportedly having an argument with his wife in their garage on September 8, when their children were at home.
According to incident reports, at one point, Johnson brought a Glock-style handgun to his head and pulled the trigger.
Johnson’s wife called 911 for a suicide attempt and when officers arrived they said she still had a pulse.
The star was then taken to the hospital where he was declared brought dead on arrival.
His wife reportedly stated that her husband did not suffer from any mental illness, nor had he experienced a prior suicide attempt.
Johnson made a brief appearance in episode four of the first season of Tiger King, where he spoke carol baskin,
Following the news, Baskin explained: “My heart goes out to his family.”
He explained the feud between Joe Exotic and Baskin on-camera during his appearance.
Johnson and Exotic were said to be friends at once, but they quickly turned into enemies when Jeff Lowe came into the picture.
TMZ claimed that Jeff’s house burned down during the meal, however, it is unclear whether his issues with Lowe and Exotic had anything to do with it.
This is the latest tragedy to strike the Tiger King set, following the passing of zookeeper Eric Covey.
Covey was found lying dead on a bed in a Brooklyn apartment, New York City, on 3 September.
A friend of his made the startling discovery, at the time it was reported.
The medical examiner has now determined that the cause of Covey’s death was “acute and chronic alcohol use” and that the method was “natural”.
In the past, Kauai has admitted to having a drinking problem, but denied speculation that he was a meth addict.
Earlier this year, he got into legal trouble after being busted for a DUI Oklahoma After a car accident.
However, he did not appear in his court, which led to the issue of an arrest warrant in May.
