Tom Parker has spoken bravely about his brain tumor battle on Friday’s Stand Up to Cancer.

The Wanted star, 33, candidly revealed at the fundraising show: ‘I could only think of “I’m about to die'”, while fans praised him for being ‘an absolute hero’.

The singer – who was diagnosed with brain cancer last year – opened up about his battle with cancer at an annual show with his The Wanted bandmates.

Lead singer Max George called him “so positive” and said he makes everyone feel “so loved”.

His positive attitude was noticed by fans, who quickly flooded Twitter with their praises for the star.

Back in September, the boy band reunited for the first time in seven years to headline a concert hosted by Tom, entitled Inside My Head.

Still it was touch and go whether he would be able to perform with his bandmates Max George, Shiv Kaneswaran, Jay McGuinness and Nathan Sykes due to his condition.

Tom was diagnosed last year with glioblastoma, which is inoperable, and has undergone radiotherapy.

In his documentary Inside My Head, he learned that the tumor had shrunk – but was left unsure of what the future would hold for him.

He said, ‘I don’t want people to treat me differently just because I have something, I think it was always on my mind.

He continued: ‘I feel like I’m in a very strong place, but it’s so hard to think about the future. Do you know what I mean? I really don’t know what it holds anymore.’

Tom’s wife, Kelsey, then called the situation “terrible” for their family. The couple married in 2018 and share two-year-old Aurelia Rose and 12-month-old son Bodhi.

Tom revealed that after six rounds of chemotherapy and 30 radiotherapy sessions, he is aiming to be cancer free in five months’ time.
