A topless Extinction rebel protester has gone on a hunger strike and will continue until Boris Johnson meets the group’s demands.
Laura Amherst, 31, of Brighton, filmed herself reading a letter to the PM saying she does not believe the government is doing enough to prevent a “climate emergency”.
The mother said she feels it is important to do more for the future of our children and asked the prime minister to set more ambitious targets to reduce carbon emissions.
Taking the appeal a step further, Laura announces she won’t eat anything else until the government responds to the letter.
“I’ve been thinking about this for a couple of weeks,” Laura said.
“It’s going to be extremely dangerous for me and I’m going to be taking a big gamble with my life, but I feel like I have to do something and try.
“I’m really scared about it, but I’m going to do it.”
Extinction Rebellion Laura has gained an online following after making headlines for going topless in March and then setting up an OnlyFans page to donate some funds to the campaign.
The eco-warrior is calling on his 18,000 Instagram fans to share his video to spread the message about why he has decided to take this step.
She said: “I need to make this viral because this is one of the most important videos of our time with the most important information.
“It affects all of us and if we don’t do something, we’re going to go extinct.
“We really need to do this. I’m risking my life to get this out and get Boris to take it seriously.”
She calls herself “Climate T**s” on Twitter.
Amherst made a name for herself by going topless at Extinction Rebellion protests, claiming she was doing it to “draw attention to the threat of climate change”.
But her protests have come under fire from people online who claim she is an “attention seeker”, “wants to be an influencer” and asked her to wear their own clothes.
The mum-of-one explained: “I was fat-shamed lately, people have said, ‘You have so many rolls on your body that I don’t want to see it’.
“Others have called me ‘disgusting’ and someone even said ‘If you let me motorboat them I’ll be a vegetarian’.
“They love to rip into me because I have fake boobies and say, ‘Oh, that must be a terrible person looking for attention,’ but they got me wrong.”
