Defenders will be able to build new barricades, towers and traps
The Creative Assembly has shared a first look at the work, starting with the long-awaited Siege Total War: Warhammer 3, revealing that defenders will be able to build their defenses and more.

Posted today (October 11), the Siege rework video offers an in-depth look at how Total War: Warhammer’s The Siege mechanics from the first two games will change with the third entry.
Instead of relying solely on the walls of a city, defenders will now be able to build their defenses at locations scattered throughout the city. As can be seen in the video, buildable structures can range from barricades to traps and temporary towers.
These structures are paid for with supplies generated by holding key buildings and points across the city.
Defenders will also be able to use small alleyways between main streets of settlements to hide combatant units, which adds the potential for flank and greater strategic flexibility when trying to capture a city.
The defending forces would operate the towers on the walls even from afar, meaning it would be much easier to fall back from the besieged walls.
In terms of cities, in maps Total War: Warhammer 3 will be larger, and have “more variety of maps than in previous games”. These cities will also include multiple levels and a wide variety of terrain to make the battle more interesting after the walls are broken down.
