Twitter user Jacob Cordeiro, who appeared to be posting pictures from the scene, shared the photos and said that “we got derailed.”

“Do you know what will be done? My mother is on the train,” replied a concerned person.

“Yes, please any information is appreciated as my family is also on that train and it has not been told what will be done,” shared another.

“That’s the information I’m looking for too. They are nowhere to be found and I hope someone is coming for them who will get well soon…” commented a third.

‘middle of nowhere’

Ryan Dennis, evening meteorologist for KRTV and KXLH, sheds light on the remote location of the event.

“The problem is that it’s in a remote location,” he said. “Great Falls is the largest town nearby, about 2 hours away.

“Plus, poor cell phone service in the area where the derailment occurred.”

He has since tweeted that passengers are being taken to Chester Senior Center and High School, montana, by bus.

When a concerned person tweeted to ask if the cars had separated from the rest of the train, Cordeiro confirmed that they did.
