A new book claims Donald Trump privately mocked French President Emmanuel Macron as “a mad man” and ridiculed his weight.
According to his former top aide Stephanie Grisham, the one-time president let Mr Macron down while in the White House.
“He’s a badass boy. He’s all a hundred and twenty pounds of fury,” said Mr. Trump, according to Ms. Grisham I Will Take Your Question Now: What I Saw in the Trump White House.
Mr Trump and Mr Macron were regularly at odds in their office
The French leader criticized Trump’s decision to pull US troops out of Syria without first informing NATO, with Mr Macron saying the coalition was experiencing a “brain death”.
In response, Mr Trump called Mr Macron’s comments a “very, very bad statement”.
Ms Grisham, who served as White House press secretary from July 2019 to April 2020, writes in the book that Boris Johnson was “one of the few European leaders that Trump tolerated”.
His books said that at the 2019 G7 summit in France, Mr Trump discussed Australia’s wild animals and gallbladder surgery with the British prime minister.
Mr Trump rejected Ms Grisham’s claims against her and said she was “very angry and bitter” about her breakup with Max Miller, a former Trump aide.
“Stephanie didn’t have what it takes and that was clear from the start,” Mr Trump said in a statement.
“He had big problems and we felt he should solve those problems for himself.”
Other claims made in the book include Melania Trump referring to Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner as “interns.”
She also wrote that Mr Trump was tough on Russian President Vladimir Putin only when the TV cameras were on and once called him to defend himself over Stormy Daniels’ claims that he had a mushroom-shaped penis.
Ms Grisham also claims a White House aide was assigned to play the tunes of a Broadway show to quell Trump’s anger, specifically Memory From cat’s.
