Twitter users say site is slowing down amid Facebook outage

Twitter users have complained that the site was slowing down due to pressure from the ongoing Facebook and Instagram outages.

Jack Dorsey’s social media platform appeared to be acknowledging the tension that has led to a flood of users when he tweeted, “Hello everyone, really.”

WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, which are all owned by Facebook, stopped working completely shortly before 5pm BST (12pm EST). Other products that are part of the same family of apps, such as Facebook Workplace, have also stopped working.

Unlike its competitors, Twitter was still up and running, but users noted that it was not operating at its normal pace.

One user tweeted, “Facebook WhatsApp and Instagram are down and then tweeting was slow because everyone was on Twitter and everyone was going crazy.”

And @ariehkovler added: “So, erm, anyone else is starting to have problems with Twitter now? Slow load times, failure to get replies and threads, ‘unable to load tweets’?

@RoyaltyGomo tweeted, “If you joined Twitter on October 04, 2021, please log off as you are slowing it down.”

And @MeshackBevhula wrote: “Twitter is a little slower than today because the people of the village “FACEBOOK” are here….”

Another user wrote: “All you Instagram guys are slowing down twitter, can you quit and please wait for insta.”

Twitter later apologized for the issues it faced on Monday.

“Sometimes more people use Twitter than usual. We prepare for these moments, but today things were not as planned. Maybe some of you have had problems seeing answers and DMs. It has been decided. Sorry about that!” the company said in a statement.

Twitter’s meltdown came after Facebook was forced to send its engineers to its US date centers to try and resolve outages. ledge.

The outage is already the most serious problem the company has faced in years.
