Tyson Fury remains heavyweight champion with 11th-round TKO victory over Deontay Wilder

Tyson Fury defeated Deontay Wilder with an 11th-round TKO on Saturday night in a classic fight that included five knockdowns in the third fight between heavyweight boxers.

Fury went down twice and Wilder went down three times in what Fury called “a great fight”.

The bout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas completed the trilogy between Fury and Wilder, with the first fight ending in a split draw and Fury winning the second fight by TKO in the seventh round.


With the win, Fury defended his WBC Heavyweight World Title belt and the Heavyweight Lineal Championship. Fury improved to 31-0-1 and Wilder dropped to 42-2-1.

Fury will be eyeing the fight against the winner of the Anthony Joshua-Alexandre Usic rematch, which is expected to take place in the spring. But he may have to fight Dillian White first, who fights Otto Wallin on October 30.

Celebrities in the fight on Saturday night included Magic Johnson and Shaquille O’Neill and retired NFL stars Charles Woodson and Michael Strahan.

first round- Wilder fires two jabs. Looks active soon. Now a right. body work. Then on the head. A different wilder, to be sure. More Jobs. Not throwing fury, just watching. Fury looks caught by surprise. Now comes the fury. And Wilder responds with more jabs. Then a big right that gets missed. Two hard rights on the body. Wilder in control. Fury lands a left hook – good first shot for him in the round. 1-2 combo from Fury. A great right by Fury, but Wilder is on his feet. Wilder 10, Fury 9.

second step-Fury lands two big punches! Now Wilder stumbled. The anger is now visible. Wilder again hits the stomach while throwing a jab. Fury is looking more aggressive with an overhand right. lead here. Back comes Wilder. Wilder throws big right which misses and leaves Fury behind – and lands. getting tied up. Wilder 19, Fury 19.

Third round- Now Fury is ready to chase. The right hand looks raised and ready. Wilder is still leading with the jab. Not just Keo King, he is playing the role of a boxer. Fury is being warned against putting Wilder in the headlock. Big punch exchanged. Wilder throws a big overhand right and Fury grazes. Comes with authority again. Unloading, but can’t land that punch flush. Wilder Down!! Fury connects with authority. Wilder counts to 10! wants to fight Fury nails Wilder again. Wilder barely gets to his feet, but is saved with a goal. Fury 29, Wilder 27.

Fourth round- Wilder in trouble. There seems to be a lot left in the tank now. looks distraught. Loading fury. Wilder shopping time. Fury descends with a barrage of punches coming down Wilder’s face. Wilder back for the jab. Rage Down!!! Wilder lands the surprise KO punch!! Fury is back on his feet and ready to fight. But Wilder did another lining. Big punches. Down goes the fury again!!! Fury at his feet and indicates that he is ready to fight. The round lasts. Wilder 37, Fury 36.

fifth round: Fury looks quite fresh. Throw a reply 1-2 combo from Fury that upsets Wilder. Wilder looks exhausted. Wilder is looking for the KO punch. Throw a lot of punches. some landing. Fury will not fall. Fury land harsh rights. Fury looks amazingly fresh and Wilder looks exhausted. And yet Wilder throws another big right hand. Wilder 47, Fury 45.

Sixth Round: Wilder begins to work out the body. A boxer with a strategy. Definitely a different Deontay Wilder. Now firing fiercely. And so Counter Fury. Fury is moving forward and hitting big punches. Wilder takes a knee. Looks like he was forced to the ground. Fury uses punches here and his weight gain. Both fighters were exhausted but were throwing dangerous punches. Wilder 56, Fury 55.

Seventh round – Fury land a big right. And just remember Wilder’s chin from the other right. Fury seems strong. Here’s looking comb – for Wilder’s body and head. Wilder comes back with a big right. Big straight right. Wilder is faltering again in fury! Ringing a bell can be difficult. Fury looking for the KO shot. Wilder, holding Fury, tries to ring the bell. survives! Fury 65, Wilder 65.

Eighth round- fury followed. Looks sharp. Wilder happily backed away. Looks like Wilder needs to buy time. Wilder big right! But Fury is taking it. Fury Lands a solid left. The fury is hard to come off and often. Wilder back up. And Rosh is satisfied seeing this. Fury lands with another great authority. again! But Wilder is standing on his feet. Fury Wilder is looking to line up. Wilder rings the bell – and probably with a KO blow in that right hand. Fury 75, Wilder 74.

Ninth round – Wilder appears to have injured his right hand. Here Fury threw sharp punches. Wilder is now up to the jab to body again. Now it is again a slugfest with Wilder taking heavy blows. With an effective series of jabs, Fury comes back. and the other. Wilder looked hurt again as Fury used that jab to land a flurry of punches. Wilder is short on fuel here, but he’s a great right-hander nonetheless. Hug exchange here. The crowd looks mesmerised. Wilder lands a big uppercut. Fury 85, Wilder 83.

Tenth round – Fury land a big right. Now looking at the controls again. Fury is now a far more aggressive and lively fighter. .Wilder is doing his best to raise that big right hand. Maybe a Hail Mary shot now. Down goes Wilder! But he is up; Ready for more. Fury landing misses with two big left and a home run right. A daring wielder hangs out there. Wilder is clearly looking for the big shot. But Fury hits big shots. Wilder Lands Big Shots! A surprising development happened at this slugfest. Fury remains at his feet. Fury 95, Wilder 91.

Eleventh round – Fury on the offensive. Fury landing big blow. The bottom goes wild.. and he’s not getting up. The referee called off the fight. Fury is the world champion after a classic fight!
