Janelli returns with her first new musical in six years, Nutopia.

Warpaint bassist/backing vocalist, who performs solo under the moniker Janelli, released her debut album ‘Right On!’ be released. in 2015.

Now, Jenny (real name Jenny Lee Lindbergh), is back with a tender, lilting indie number about “being my own best friend.”


She said of the single: “‘Nutopia’ agrees with how hard I can be on myself. It’s about finding the many sides of myself, the lighter and darker sides, that move us forward.” . It’s about being my own best friend.”

According to a press release, Janelli relocated from LA to Utah during the pandemic, where she “explored new creative fields with a variety of mediums, including painting”. Among them she is working on Warpaint’s next album, which is yet to be announced.

The new song comes with news of Geniely’s ‘Singles Club’ that she will be releasing a string of limited edition singles on 7″ vinyl exclusively limited to 1,000 copies each.

It follows his release for Record Store Day last year, which saw his share covers of Fugazi’s “I’m So Tired” and Daniel Johnson’s “Some Things Last a Long Time”.

Along with the new ‘Singles Club’, Geniely will also host a physical Singles Club where fans can come together to share their favorite singles and artworks. More information on this is yet to come.


Meanwhile, Warpaint recently announced their first UK and European tour in five years.

Four-Piece is currently working on a follow-up to their 2016 album Heads Up while they released the track Lilies in April.

Warpaint will return to the UK and Europe in 2022 for several tour dates in May and June, with a run of dates in the UK and Ireland. See full dates here.
