A local news station in eastern Washington is being investigated by police after a porn video purportedly played on a screen behind a meteorologist giving a forecast at 6 p.m. last Sunday

The Spokane Police Department’s Special Victims Unit is investigating the origins of the apparent video and how it allegedly ended up on KREM-TV during dinner, the Spokane-based Spokesperson-Review reported.

TV viewers had called the department to report the video.

It was reportedly shown for about 10 seconds before being taken off the screen.

A spokesman for the department said investigators had not yet concluded whether the transmission of the video was a criminal act.

KREM apologized for the video in a subsequent Sunday broadcast, and owner TEGNA reiterated: “Those of us at KREM 2 would like to apologize for what happened in our 6 p.m. newscast tonight.
