Watch Ed Sheeran join Coldplay for performance of ‘Fix You’ at album launch gig

Sheeran also played some of his own hits at a one-off London gig

Coldplay took to Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London to perform a special album launch show tonight (October 12).

In a one-off gig, the band celebrated the release of their upcoming album, ‘Music of the Spheres’, which is due out on Friday (15 October).

During their set, Chris Martin and co. Ed Sheeran, who joined the band for a rendition of the band’s 2005 song ‘Fix You’, taken from their third studio album, ‘X & Y’.


Coldplay starred alongside Sheeran on “Shape of You” and their latest single, “Shivers”. You can see footage and photos from the performance below.

Later this week, Coldplay will take part in a two-day immersive event called ‘The Atmosphere’ in London.

The event, which will take place over the weekend (October 15-16) and will come in association with Amazon Music, will also take place in New York, Tokyo and Berlin.

The band will also host a week-long music residency. Late Late Show with James Corden.

The residency will begin days after the release of the band’s ninth studio album, Music of the Spheres, which is due out on October 15, and follows a similar week-long stint at Lorde’s show in August.

Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran has revealed that he and Elton John are set to collaborate on a new Christmas single this year.

In an interview with Dutch radio station NPO Radio 2, Sheeran revealed that John approached her for a collaboration last year after he learned that his own Christmas song ‘Step Into Christmas’ had broken into the UK Top 10 for the first time.
