James Corden has parodied The Beatles: Get Back in a new sketch late late show,

The actor and comedian released a short clip in which he plays a character named Gary Thump, who joins The Beatles for their recording sessions as they try to write ‘Let It Be’.

Corden shared the clip on social media, writing, “Obviously The Beatles: Get Back The doctor left a leading man,” referring to his character.

After letting Paul McCartney sing the first chorus, Corden jumps in as thump and says: “For an effort, but let’s let it be shitty, honestly.”

He then plays snippets of his own songs, including ‘Jerry the Jolly Elf’, ‘Omnipotent Jellycopter’ and ‘(Three Little) Silly Sheep’.

The footage, restored from the archives by Peter Jackson, cuts between existing clips from the documentary series showing the Beatles and new spoof footage created by Corden.

Corden then addresses John Lennon, saying: “I’m spitting diamonds here, John.”


He ends the clip by singing brief hiatus from three fake tracks: ‘Chicken Tonight’, ‘Potato Waffles’ and ‘I’m the Kumquat’, and apologizes for being on “too many drugs”.
