In a clip released yesterday (November 29), Clarkson performed with a backing band on her daytime talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show,
With each episode, Clarkson chooses a favorite song to cover before starting the show’s main event.
Clarkson attempted to work her own pop vocal skills into the Pixies alt-rock classic, on an arrangement that stayed close to the grit of the original song. Watch his performance below.
In recent episodes, Clarkson performed covers of Radiohead’s “Karma Police” and “Fake Plastic Trees”, along with other alternative rock classics, as well as My Chemical Romance’s “Welcome to the Black Parade” and Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence”. ‘ has been taken.
Last month, Clarkson collaborated with Ariana Grande on a new Christmas song called ‘Santa, Can’t You Hear Me,’ which culminates on Clarkson’s new holiday album, ‘When Christmas Comes Along.
Meanwhile, the Pixies are set to make a headlining set at Manchester’s Sounds of the City 2022 next July.
The group is also producing a box set titled ‘Live in Brixton’, which documents their 2004 reunion show with original bassist Kim Deal.
