Now new analysis has shown how Christmas shoppers can save more than £150 on expensive purchases, depending on when they buy them.

For those looking for laptops and yoga mats this winter, it might be best to wait until December to make their purchases.

But shoppers looking for a hair dryer, juicer, and bike should probably be pedaling, as prices are about to go up.

The figures come from comparison site, Idealo, which analyzed the items most likely to be popular gifts for this Christmas.

Using data from the price of those same items last year, the comparison site has managed to decide which month is the best time to buy the items at the top of your wish list.

Smart watch buyers are better off shopping in October, when prices average £172, compared to December when they reach an average of £198.

Other tech items like game consoles and wireless ear pods are among the most expensive in December, and could cost £56 and £8 more, respectively, than in the prior months.

Those looking to buy a juicer this Christmas can save up to £70 by buying in October, with the average price being around £180 instead of December, when average prices reach £250.
