Before “Solar Power”, Lorde’s last album was 2017 drama. The album came out on June 16, 2017 and topped the charts worldwide. Fans loved songs like “Green Light,” “Perfect Places,” and “Sober.” before this dramaLorde announced herself in the music scene in 2013 with “Pure Heroine”, her debut album which was a surprise success.

“We wrote this song in the US summer 2019,” the singer revealed. “This time, two years ago. It’s in the back pocket.”

“Solar Energy,’ written and produced by Me and Jack, is the first of the rays,” explained Lord GENIUS. “It’s about that infectious, bubbly summer energy that grips us all, June (or December, if you’re a Southern Hemisphere geek like me, but all I know is for you to shake your little head). It’s literally impossible to wrap around. Don’t worry about it!).”

“I love the video,” she continued. “We did a whole bunch of videos for this album. We basically created a universe on the beach – a secret beach – so this video was like mine that introduces you to the world of albums and videos and I play like a quirky tour guide.”
