Snapchat, the popular photo sharing app used by millions of people across the world has unexpectedly stopped working, leaving users unable to send messages.
The Down Detector website filed thousands of reports on Wednesday from users saying they were unable to load chats or access the site’s Bitmoji.
The social app responded in a tweet, “We know some Snapchatters are having problems using the app right now – wait, we’re looking at it!”
It is not clear at this time what caused the power outage, but Granthshala Snapchat has been reached out for comment, saying the issue is “not universal” and that several services are starting to back down.
Facebook suffered a major loss on 4 October, which also affected WhatsApp and Instagram, and saw the social network go out of action for between six and seven hours.
The incident cost the company millions of dollars in revenue and instead thousands of disappointed posters took to Twitter and Snapchat.
Twitter was flooded with memes again on Wednesday, notably borrowing scenes of confusion and desolation. Spongebob Squarepants And squid game, as people expressed relief that the Snapchat app was not working because their own Wi-Fi was faulty.
Many users heaved a public sigh of great relief that their friend was not replying to them, it was because of a glitch and not as a result of some goofiness that they said in an earlier message.
One person wrote, “Was starting to worry she doesn’t like me, thankfully it’s just a snap down.”
