The Clooney-directed drama, which hits theaters on December 17 and Amazon Prime on January 7, is set largely in a bar where the main characters spend most of their screen time walking around. It has given me the strength and support to talk about my illness with others,” he wrote. “Fighting any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle. Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment. This is a full time commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family.”

The “Good Will Hunting” screenwriter continued, “As I have to remind myself, if you have a problem, getting help is a sign of courage, not weakness or failure. With acceptance and humility, I do so. I am taking advantage of everyone’s help and I am grateful to everyone who is there for me. I hope I can set an example for others who are struggling down the road.”
