According to trainer Malik Scott, Deontay Wilder would do ‘ten times better’ against Oleksandr Usic than Anthony Joshua.
The Bronze Bomber (35) suffered an 11th round knockout loss to Tyson Fury last night, while AJ was largely outboxed by Usyak a fortnight ago.
But despite seeing his man fail to win back his WBA heavyweight belt last night, Scott believes Wilder will be in a good position to win more world titles in the future – the Ukrainian WBA, IBF, WBO and By defeating the IBO champion.
talking to ESNews, the Bronze Bomber’s cornerman said: “Usiq and Wilder? I believe it’s a superfight. I believe stylistically, Usyk will beat AJ again.
“If AJ can make the necessary adjustments stylistically with his team then I believe it will be a much more competitive fight.
“But I’ll still give Usyak the edge … and maybe I’ll give him the edge from stoppage – it just depends on how AJ handles the first three rounds of positioning.
“But with Deontay, I believe his style will do a whole lot better against Usyak than AJ’s style, ten times better.
“Because I look at it this way – Usyak fought AJ and I tell everyone he got hurt and everything that meant he was going to be killed.”

The interviewer then ominously interjected: “If Deontay hits you…”
To which Scott replied: “That’s what I mean.”
He also confirmed that Wilder had broken an arm and a finger during last night’s horrific loss.
And Scott wants his man to take a long break from the sport, adding: “I really don’t want Deontay to talk about boxing or anything to do with boxing for a while.
“I want him to get some good rest, especially after this.
“He was still working so much after the last fight. So over time, and training worked and was very excited and very happy to win the mediation.
“He never really got the rest, he deserved a good rest. I’m going to make sure he gets it.”
